Please go to Geocaching.com Access>Get another access token. Log in and authorize GSAK.

If that doesn't work, please follow the steps outlined in this post.

That solved it! I forgot I'd changed my gc.com password in the interim. Thanks!

Hello together,

is there any possibility to create a map in the statistics for urban districts?
I found the abitlity to create it for counties, but I didn't find any way to do it for the urban districts.

I hope this is the right place for my question, otherwise please tell me where I could post it.

Thanks for your answers.

Yes, as Yellow Ants says, you can create a map for any parameter. The Map File Editor within FSG allows you to select which field is used to define the name through the $MapDataSource variable. This can be County, State, or any of the user data fields. Maps of urban districts already exist for some areas.

What's needed?

1. A map image file

2. A Map data file

3. Some way of assigning the correct area to each caches. As Yellow Ants said, this can be through custom polygon files, or could be done manually.

See this post for instructions on creating custom map files. The 'county' maps are the generic ones that can be used for any type of region.

Thank you very much Yellow ants and lignumaqua,

I did not realize, that I'am able to use the user data fields.
The polygons I allready created a few days ago. So I have to do my best to understand instructions on creating custom map files.

Thanks a lot.

Under Tools>Options, Advanced, do you have something under "Run a macro on Exit"?

user posted image

If so, please UNcheck that box and see if that cures the problem.

The error log indicates there is a problem with the automatic backup on exit.

Go to "Tools=>Options=>General" and check that backup folder is valid and there is enough space there to hold the automatic backups.

Duplicate Finds In GSAK by Berta, Nick and Zoey - 2015-02-06

I updated my profile using Findstatgen Ver 4.4. When I pasted it into my profile on the Geocaching.com web site, it shows 7449 finds on 7435 caches. I had noticed over the years that the find count had been 2 higher than the cache count but since it was only 2, I didn't think too much about it. But now that its 14, I decided to look into it.

I downloaded and ran DuplicateFoundLogsAnyDate.gsk. It generated 14 caches with 2 finds on them. I brought one of the caches up on the geocaching site, scrolled through all the logs and didn't see more than one found log by me.

I then brought the same cache up in my found caches in GSAK. It shows only 1 listing BUT on the yellow box labeled count it says 2. How can this be corrected.

After I installed GSAK on a new laptop using Windows 7 Pro I attempted to restore a back up of my GSAK databased and settings using the restore option. It crashes with the error:

SQLLITE ERROR 1 - SELECTs to the left and right of UNION do not have the same number of result columns.

The program brings up the error message box. Then if I attempt to restart GSAK I just get the same error and the program hangs and gives me errors about not having access to the user data folder that GSAK uses to store the databases. This is LOCKED down on this install for some reason, and I can not find or delete said folder. Uninstalling and reinstalling GSAK did not fix this issue as the user data remains. Installing GSAK in a new folder GSAK2 allowed me to run but same issue if I attempt to restore.

That's because the version of GSAK on the old computer is newer than the version on the new computer. Upgrade GSAK to the latest version on the new computer then you should be good.

Clyde, this seems to come up quite a bit lately. Given all the database schema changes, I wonder if it might be time for a full release. It's been almost a year since the last one.

Add corrected coordinates from Publish Logs screen by ian-and-penny - 2015-02-06

Where does gsak get the corrected coords from? Are they downloaded from the gps during the fetch process or are they manually entered?[...]

I would prefer a parsing during the fetch process*. If a unit gpx file contains waypoints named "final GC12345" or "final 12345" then the coords of the waypoints could be associated with the corresponding geocache.

Edit: added image

This appears waaay to complex, or am I missing some simple workflow steps.

All I'm asking for is an easy way to go to (and return from) the corrected coordinates dialogue so that I can manually add corrected coordinates to the database at "publish time" without having to completely exit back to the main database screen to do so.

I did this routine and was able to delete the duplicate logs. But, will the duplicates show up each time I run the My Finds Query?

request to store the dropbox data in a different folder(-name) than GSAK/ please, since that is where I keep a (manual) backup of my gsak installation in dropbox already...

Problem with GPX Load Dialog by Red Roo - 2015-02-07

If I use the following GPX load dialog everything works as expected...

but if I save the dialog for use in a macro the load summary always displays.
It's probably been like this for some time, but I've only just gotten around to looking at it. It's only a minor annoyance but it'd be nice if I could turn the Load Summary off when running it from a macro.

I did this routine and was able to delete the duplicate logs.  But,  will the duplicates show up each time I run the My Finds Query?

That depends wink.gif
The concept to understand is that logs having different log-id's will be imported and shown in GSAK. So:
- If you have logged a cache twice on Geocaching.com, and have not deleted one of the logs on geocaching.com, then both logs (logs-id's) will be in the My Finds PQ. And as a result, they will be added agan when importing the My Finds PQ.
- If you had 2 logs in GSAK, and deleted (only) one of them, then it depends on which log (log-id) is in the My Finds PQ. If the My Finds PQ contains the log (logid) already present in GSAK, it will not be duplicated. If the My Finds PQ contains the log (log-id) you just deleted in GSAK, then it will be added again. And then you again have 2 duplicate logs.

The GetAllLogsForUser macro is able to automatically delete all logs that were deleted on Geocaching.com from your GSAK database, and it will add any missing logs. This way you don't have to manually find and delete any duplicate logs

Version 2.3 Released

Bugs fixed:
  • Exclude Archive option now works

New features:
  • Saves data from the previous run. Subsequent runs then only have to process caches you have found since the previous run. Don't forget to download all the logs of your new finds.
  • Option to clear all saved data so that the next run analyses all logs afresh
  • Option to clear all saved data from a single cache by GC code. This is useful when you find a cache in your list that shouldn't be there so (EG: because you forgot to download all the logs). This forces the macro to reprocess this cache on the next run
  • Settings dialogue to enable you to access the "Exclude Archived" and "Debug" options without having to edit the macro file. Your preference for "Exclude Archived" setting is saved and persists.
