I imagine this could be done using RunPgm and the appropriate Windows system call, but I don't know what that is. Given the wide variety of email clients (and many who use only web based mail in a browser), I'm not sure this could be reliably automated.
If your friend has access to an FTP site, another way to do that would be to FTP the file to your friend's site. This probably would be more reliable (it's how sending debug information to Clyde works), but I'm not sure it's worth the effort compared to writing the file to the desktop and instructing the user to attach it to an email.
