Following my request regarding the macro Nuvi_GPX_by_CT in combination with the Nuvi 2595LMT, I have continued to find a workable solution for the cache display POI on the Nuvi 2595LMT.
Intro:
In the car we have a Garmin NUVI 2595LMT that we use to get to the cache area. Leaving the car, we then continue with the Oregon450 (with Topo Maps installed).
As such it would be very handy to have the cache icons displayed, while driving, in the View Map mode of the Nuvi. As well as to have cache info on the Garmin NUVI 2595LMT.
What we did in the past was observe the Oregon screen, select a cache, get the coordinates put the coordinates in the Nuvi to drive to the area with Nuvi guidance. Having parked the car, continue caching with the Oregon450.
What I have worked out so far with the Garmin NUVI 2595LMT:
POI loader: clear the Nuvi with the POI Loader and on the Nuvi itself, clear Favorites and History.
GSAK: run the macro Nuvi_GPX_by_CT and store the caches in the Nuvi at: /Garmin/POI with the POI Loader.
Nuvi: tap the View Map and get the general map display.
Tapping the Nuvi screen twice, quick after each other, the right corner shows a looking glass.( Its only visible short, when not tapping it !)
Tapping on that looking glass icon, a scroll down list appears. Scroll down all the way to the flag and tap on that flag. A roll out banner Custom POI appears. Tap on it.
On the View Map now appear all the caches as blue dots. The screen view can be moved and scaled without losing these caches.
Tapping on a blue dot displayes the name or GC code of the cache.
Tapping on that name or GC code provides the cache info.
However observe following: When using the down arrow to scroll down to get more cache info, in most cases it remains blank, as if there is no further info! To get that info visible, just tap the white area immediately below the Route Info box and all the cache info is available and can be scrolled !
