Note that if you still have the "Interrogate logs" checkbox set, then that forces GSAK to spend quite some time with interrogating the logs. How is this set for the numbers you are showing us above. Out of curiosity, could you double click in the status bar in the field where it shows number of caches shown and show us a screen grab of that dialog. Also with Windows Explorer look in the folder for this database and inspect the SQLite.db3 file - how big is this file? |
I had the "Interrogate logs" enabled during the tests on my last post. I disabled that feature tonight and ran the copy again. It made quite a difference, with the resulting time for the grid to appear dropping to a mere 3 seconds. Screen shot as requested:

The SQLite.db3 file is 395,520 KB.
If I understood Clyde's earlier post correctly, this is a fast time, but it excludes at least some of the housekeeping tasks that he mentioned. I'm still curious to establish why my system is taking much longer with these tasks than Clyde's similar hardware. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before or not but, during our last US trip two years ago, I used a similar procedure on the same hardware without these long delays.
