a way of counting user selections by hynr - 2013-06-27

I had to reboot my computer for some issues (probably unrelated to this). I now do not see the same behavior I saw before. I may have also patched in the interim; I am at this moment on 8.3.1.19.

I have set the default action (this is when you don't have a corresponding entry in the colhints.txt file)  to:

Boolean fields - show the total of the "True" count

This is where I was seeing something different but did not realize it until just now. I was NOT seeing the new box show for boolean fields that I had not programmed (eg userflag); just the default hint on the column. I do now realize this because now I can manage to see both at the same time. I would show a screenshot, but the default hint is very "shy" and disappears when I try to do that.

I also see this with 8.3.1.20 (just patched to check on this). To reproduce you probably need that field to not be represented in the colhints.txt file: ctrl-click on header, note new box does show, now any slight wiggle of the mouse triggers the default hint to appear over the box.

You may want to disable the native grid column hint during the time that the new hint is shown.
