When I first started using my Oregon 650, I limited the number of logs I downloaded from the Web site to 20. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to see what would happen if I increased the logs to 30. Downloading 30 logs from the Web site didn't seem to take significantly longer that it did for 20 logs. |
Just FYI, Get Geocaches has a limit of 30 logs, and Get Recent Logs downloads the logs in chunks of up to 30 logs each (i.e. each API call gets 30 logs, assuming a cache has more than 30 logs).
The overhead for the additional log data is relatively small compared to the overhead for an additional API call. I therefore wouldn't expect a significant difference in download speeds for up to 30 logs. More than 30 logs will increase download times, because it will require an extra API call for any cache with more than 30 logs. Image may be NSFW.
