Hm, think I don't understand what you mean.
AFAIK it allways opens in the browser.
If I go to the online waypoint URL at groundspeak from within GSAK and look at the small map at the right hand side of the screen, then that map is showing, no problem.
If I then click on 'show larger map' it also works as expected.
