I'll have a look at who the author of the norwegian map is. From what I could see it's two copies of the identical file (same name, same version number) but one of the two ends in the middle of the file, causing the error. I'll look into this tomorrow. |
Ok, I couldn't wait till tomorrow, of course

There are three posts with Norwegian maps:
- Norway v2.1 by bjorges.
The file is called FindStatGenMapNorway.dat and even though the post says V2.1, the version contained in the file is 0.5 - Norway V0.7 by Catch.
The file is called FindStatGenMapNorway.dat and the version in it matches the one given in the post (0.7) - Norway V0.9 by Catch.
The file is called FindStatGenMapNorwayStateShaded.dat and the version in the file and post match (0.9).
As the name says, the content of the file is that of a shaded map
Now, when I click on the "install maps from server" button in FSG I get the following list which shows two entries simply labelled "Norway".

I've been unable to reproduce the download of the corrupted file, so it seems that was a glitch on my internet connection. However, no matter which box I tick, in both cases a copy if the V0.7 (non-shaded) map is downloaded.
Before I start contacting Catch (who seems to be the author of the latest version of the non-shaded and shaded version, what do I need to tell him?
I suspect that the name the maps are listed under is $Country for the non-shaded and $MapName for the shaded maps (both contain "Norway"). Is the reason for the identical file being downloaded in both cases the identical name? Or is there some other problem? Would the problem be solved if the shaded version was contained "Norway shaded" in $MapName? I assume the map image on the server would need to be adjusted as well?
@lignumaqua: If you can give a quick summary of what would need to be changed, I'd be happy to then contact Catch and point him to this thread.
