I just recently made the jump from 7 to 8 and I notice it takes seconds to redraw the screen. For example task switching back to the application. I also notice it draws faster if I turn off use of the GPU for external calculations, but the redraw is still quite visible and slow. v7 didn't have this issue, and other apps don't experience any drawing performance issues when I'm calculating on the GPU.
