This is not completely wrong. But I think the most common case is that users upload Exif without being aware of it. So it might be a good idea to make this feature optional but with a default to erase the Exif and make it non-sticky.
Everybody can see this feature, can upload pictures as he likes, but all user not taking care about will not make a "mistake".
