Yes, the balance should be tracked by account, not by the app (GSAK v GDAK) or device (desktop v laptop v phone). If it isn't (or wasn't) being tracked that way, it was an error at Geocaching.com and a hole I'm sure they'd want to fix, and maybe that's what happened.
For future reference, you can get up to 26,000 caches per day using a combination of Full API (6,000), Light API (10,000) and Pocket Queries (10,000).
PS - we know Geocaching.com has been tweaking the API limit controls behind the scenes because some users temporarily had no limit on their API accounts.![blink.gif]()
