Actually you don't need multiple profiles to do this. It is a matter of convenience and degree to which you wish to keep things separate. Purely with regard to this question, it is quite simple. GSAK can access the API via up to 5 different accounts and you can easily switch between them. For details see this information: http://gsak.net/help/hs46095.htm
So the answer to your question is that you set things up so GSAK can easily switch API access between your account and your wife's account.
When you get ready to publish, there is a message summarizing what GSAK is about to do and the first word is the geocaching name that is currently set to access the API. So always be sure to read this message to make sure it is an accurate reflection of what you want to do.
