Thanks, Jester... that's EXACTLY what I wanted - and far more powerful than I expected.

A search of the macro index for "multiple databases" turned up nothing of use - wrong question, I guess!

...and Ian of Ian and Penny: we all have different ways of doing things, and even if I only had three databases, this feature would be useful. Viva la difference!
