I'm not an expert, but I suspect you don't have the correct LDAP path. Please see this post for an example of some of the minutiae associated with LDAP AD and use of ADPATH. Unless you really know what you are doing, it is easy to mess up the path.
If all you want to do is run multiple profiles, you can do that without the added complexity of LDAP by following the steps outlined in this post. In fact, you may not even need to do that now that GSAK supports overriding the global "Method for Matching" under Database>Properties (whether you need separate profiles depends on what you are trying to do, but separate databases with different "Method for Matching" is all you need for many things).
