GSAK Hanging on Launch by dani_carriere - 2013-12-18

GSAK Version: 7.7.2.56

Windows Version: XP SP3

I'm trying to: Launch GSAK.

The steps I've taken are:
* Tried launching it as normal this evening, but froze on launch.
* Closed app using Task Manager, tried launching again. Froze again.
* Closed all apps, tried launching again. Froze again.
* Rebooted machine. Launched GSAK, Froze again. (can't get past splash screen).
* Uninstalled GSAK, Reinstall GSAK. Froze on Launch.
* Uninstalled GSAK, Rebooted machine, regcleaned machine, rebooted, removed GSAK file / folder remnants under Program Files. Reinstalled GSAK. Froze on launch.

I've been using GSAK for many years and have never had this issue before.

The results (including error messages, if any): The application hangs on launch (Event Viewer shows Application Hang: "Hanging application gsak.exe, version 7.7.2.56, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000."

Any changes since this worked before (if it did work before): The only thing I can think of is I upgraded my iTunes from 5.0 to 5.1 this evening. But I don't know how that would even affect GSAK.

Note: Upgrading to GSAK 8 is out of the question at the moment (monetary impact).
