Version 2.3 Released

Bugs fixed:
  • Exclude Archive option now works

New features:
  • Saves data from the previous run. Subsequent runs then only have to process caches you have found since the previous run. Don't forget to download all the logs of your new finds.
  • Option to clear all saved data so that the next run analyses all logs afresh
  • Option to clear all saved data from a single cache by GC code. This is useful when you find a cache in your list that shouldn't be there so (EG: because you forgot to download all the logs). This forces the macro to reprocess this cache on the next run
  • Settings dialogue to enable you to access the "Exclude Archived" and "Debug" options without having to edit the macro file. Your preference for "Exclude Archived" setting is saved and persists.

Problem with GPX Load Dialog by clyde - 2015-02-07

Hmm, I just tested this and it worked as expected for me.

Any chance your load command has "ShowStats=Yes" (which will override your settings value)

No - the load dialog was copied with Show Summary unchecked but can be altered by the macro. No matter what setting it always shows.
I'll play some more if it runs as expected for you and get back to you wink.gif

Duplicate Finds In GSAK by Kai Team - 2015-02-07

To come at this the other way, but saying the same thing as The CEO, to avoid duplicate logs in GSAK:

1) Ensure that you have only one found log on that cache at Geocaching.com (i.e. delete any online duplicates), and

2) Delete both found logs in GSAK, then import a My Finds PQ generated after you've done step 1, to restore your remaining online log in GSAK. This ensure that you delete the same log in GSAK that was deleted online, and avoids recreating duplicates. smile.gif

There were no caches to fetch... error 307 by Lime Candy - 2015-02-07

Trying to import field notes from Oregon 550, when doing Publish Logs > Fetch > From GPSr I get the error message "there were no caches to fetch, perhaps your From date needs adjusting error 307"

Tried adjusting the From date to 3 years ago, still nothing.

Tried navigating straight to the folder on the Garmin Oregon containing geocache_visits.txt, still nothing.

I've attached the geocache_visits.txt file which looks OK to me, no rogue characters or non-standard formats.

Please can anyone shed any light?

FieldNotes should look like this:

Your file contains a lot of NULs between any chars. Did you edit that file and accidentily saved it in a wrong format?

Yes, it definitely appears that this file has been opened (probably in a word processing program) and saved in a different format. You could try opening the file again in the same program and saving it again, this time making sure that you chose "plain text" as the format. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you'll have to delete the file and let your GPSr recreate a properly formatted geocache_vistis.txt file the next time you log caches on your GPSr.

I've tried cleaning up the file for you and I think I've recovered it. Please save the attached file on your GPSr, replacing the existing file, and see if you can fetch it this time. smile.gif

In the future, if you want to open and view or edit the geocache_visits.txt file, use a plain text editor like Windows Notepad. Never us a word processing program like Word.

Thanks guys - I've just deleted the file, logged another test find and it imported fine.

Oh and your cleaned up file works too, thanks Kai Team.

Hello again,

actually I kill my self in creating a custom map. I think you can help me smile.gif

I tried the 'Helper' Macro from the All Purpose Statistics Generator Map Files Thread.

But the macro stops with an error in line

CODE
$Total = RegExCount(",",$AllStates)

My map data file is the following

On my laptop with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, the status bar is displayed strange. It is displayed in full-screen mode at the very bottom edge. Why is that?

Thanks and regards - Tigerdackel

Hello, I had a problem with my computer I had to do to format. I reinstalled and all my GSAK databases. My problem is that I miss a lot of dates found by me. I searched in the GSAK FAQ and I found the information but it still does not work. For me the information I have found for my GSAK were correct. As my number #id geocaching is correct in tool, found the advanced option date is checked. Will you help me?

It would be very helpful if you told us what the error is - i.e. what is the exact wording of the error message? There also is not attachment to your post. smile.gif

I do not understand. Do you have the split screen showing? If not, we would expect the status bar to show at the bottom of the GSAK window. To display the split screen, press F2.

If you mean that the labels are at the very bottom edge of the status bar, do you have large fonts or a non-standard (other than 96) dpi selected on the laptop? The text in the status bar is always shown at the bottom of the bar (i.e. it is not vertically centered), and I suspect yours is a little tighter to the bottom than usual because of non-standard display settings.

Glad to help, but we need more information:

1) What version of GSAK are you using? Please give us the version number shown at the left end of the GSAK window title bar:

user posted image

2) Is there an error message? If so, please give us the exact text (or a screen shot) of the error message.

3) Does this happen on any cache or just on one particular cache? (I'm trying to determine if it's data related).

4) Are you able to view the user notes by using the menu Waypoint>Add/Change/Delete Notes or by pressing Ctrl-T on your keyboard? (I'm trying to determine if this is just related to the double click, or the user notes in general).

Hello Kai Team,

the whole error message is this:

CODE
Fehler in Makro auf Zeile: 57
$Total = RegExCount(",",$AllStates)

Fehler=> (Pos: 34) String type value expected

Makro wird nun abgebrochen

I hope the attachement is now attached.

Welcome to the GSAK forums! smile.gif

GSAK uses your logs to determine if you found a cache. If you recreated the database with downloads from Geocaching.com or regular Pocket Queries, they may not have included your logs.

Since you are a Premium Member at Geocaching.com, you can get the special "My Finds" Pocket Query, which will contain all of your logs. Click here for step by step instructions.

I am not familiar with the macro code, but the error means that GSAK is expecting the $AllStates variable to contain text (a "string") but it is either missing, empty or it contains some other type of data (a number or a date). Take a look at where you are generating $AllStates in the macro to see if you can determine the source of the problem. smile.gif
